Everything intelligent in Freely — the Company Brain, the sales and support agents, the drafts and suggestions — is powered by top AI models. You have two simple choices for how that’s paid for.
Option 1 — Just use Freely’s AI (default)
Do nothing. Freely runs the AI for you out of the box, powered by leading models. Your plan includes an AI allowance, so it just works.
Option 2 — Bring your own key
Prefer to run on your own AI account? In Settings → AI API Keys, add your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key. Freely checks that it works, and from then on your AI runs on your account.
Good to know: an AI subscription (like a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro/Max plan) is different from an API key and can’t be used here — that’s a rule set by the AI providers, not by Freely. You’ll need an API key from their developer console, which is billed separately from a subscription.
Your usage is protected
Your plan sets a fair AI allowance, so you’re never surprised by runaway costs. Heavy users can bring their own key (Option 2) and cover their own usage.
Privacy
Your business data stays yours. The AI works on your invoices and clients to help you — it’s fully isolated from every other business on Freely.
